New Year's Resolution- Part 2:
New Year’s Resolutions should be beneficial to your overall mental and physical health, but realistic and able to be accomplished. Let’s make 2011 the year you see these resolutions to fruition, together! Yesterday we discussed some basic resolutions that help your everyday health.
6. Have treats, Just try to make them treats like non-fat yogurt or soft serve with berries vs. banana split, 1 oz. square of good quality dark chocolate vs. a candy bar, or a modified portion of your favorite treat. If you never allow yourself to have a splurge treat, you will over indulge if given the opportunity.
7. Make sure your getting enough sleep. For everyone in our hyper-busy society, it’s always easier to cut the sleep time out first to get everything else done. This creates a problem because a lack of sleep has been linked to belly fat and a host of other medical problems. Click on this link for more information-(http://www.cincinnati.md/articlepage_cn.aspx?cn-documentid=634930&query=sleep linked to increased belly fat&s=1&cat=con ) .If the reason that you aren’t getting enough sleep is due to sleep apnea, try to find a treatment that helps you.
8. Try to eat at home or pack your lunch. When you do this you are in control of the calories, nutrition, and cost involved in the meal.
9. Engage a friend to workout with you. You’ll attend more consistently and you’ll get a workout plus social interactions.
Tomorrow we will finish our list and set off into 2011 on a good, strong foot!
